Peckham.
Peckham SE15 is ten minutes from home base. Victorian terraces off Bellenden Road, converted warehouses around Copeland Park, new builds near the station — I know the quirks of the housing stock across all of them.
Peckham is a few minutes up the road from my place in East Dulwich, so SE15 is regular ground for me. It’s one of the most mixed patches in South London: Victorian terraces around Bellenden Road and Choumert Road, ex-council blocks, and a growing number of flat conversions and new-builds around Rye Lane and Peckham Levels. Each one needs a slightly different hand — a period terrace and a modern conversion rarely have the same problem twice.
What SE15 homes usually need
In the older streets it’s the usual period-house list: replastering patches, hanging doors that have dropped, boxing in pipework, and painting rooms that haven’t been touched in years. In the flats and conversions it’s more flat-pack assembly, shelving, TV and shelf mounting into stud walls done properly, and tidying up the small jobs landlords and new owners inherit.
Whatever the building, the approach is the same — a written quote first, careful work, and the place left clean. No call-out fee for coming to look.
